Thomas Penn, the son of William Penn, founded this city in 1762. Located at the junction of the Delaware and Lehigh Rivers, Easton is the seat of Northampton County and was one of the country's earliest industrial centers. Its location provided the city easy access to the coal regions, Philadelphia and New York. Since 1832, the city has been home to Lafayette College. Pictured here is Centre Square with the Crayola Factory located nearby.
