Newgrange - Sí an Bhrú

 Newgrange is an impressive prehistoric monument in Ireland that is older than the Egyptian pyramids and Stonehenge. It was built during the Neolithic period, around 3200 BC. It consists of a large mound with an inner chamber and a long passage. Particularly fascinating is its astronomical alignment: At the winter solstice, sunlight penetrates through a small opening deep into the chamber. Newgrange is considered one of the most important examples of megalithic architecture in Europe and is admired by numerous visitors every year.

Newgrange ist ein beeindruckendes prähistorisches Denkmal in Irland, das älter ist als die ägyptischen Pyramiden und Stonehenge. Erbaut wurde es während der Jungsteinzeit, etwa 3200 v. Chr. Es besteht aus einem großen Hügel mit einer inneren Kammer und einem langen Gang. Besonders faszinierend ist die astronomische Ausrichtung: Zur Wintersonnenwende dringt das Sonnenlicht durch eine kleine Öffnung tief in die Kammer hinein. Newgrange gilt als eines der bedeutendsten Zeugnisse der megalithischen Baukunst in Europa und wird jedes Jahr von zahlreichen Besuchern bewundert.

King John's Castle
King John's Castle is a historic fortress located in the heart of Limerick City, Ireland. It sits on the banks of the River Shannon and is one of the best-preserved Norman castles in the country. The castle was built in the early 13th century on the orders of King John of England, who was also known as Lord of Ireland. It was constructed to strengthen Norman control over the area and to defend the river crossing.
