Krefeld

 

Krefeld ist eine Großstadt auf der linken Rheinseite im Bundesland Nordrhein-Westpfahlen. Den Namen als "Samt- und Seidenstadt" verdankt sie der Seidenstoffproduktion des 18. und 19. Jahrhunderts. 

Krefeld is a large city on the left bank of the Rhine in the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It owes its name as the "velvet and silk city" to the silk fabric production of the 18th and 19th centuries.
