 Imam-Ali-Moschee
Die Imam-Ali-Moschee, auch bekannt als Islamisches Zentrum Hamburg (IZH), ist ein bedeutendes religiöses und kulturelles Zentrum im Stadtteil Uhlenhorst. Sie wurde in den Jahren 1960 bis 1965 erbaut und gilt als eine der ältesten schiitischen Moscheen in Deutschland. Ihr markantes Erscheinungsbild wird durch die große Kuppel und zwei schlanke Minarette geprägt, die sie zu einem Blickfang an der Außenalster machen. Das IZH dient primär der schiitischen Gemeinde und beherbergt neben Gebetsräumen auch eine Bibliothek und Bildungsangebote. Aufgrund ihrer langen Geschichte und ihrer Rolle als wichtiges schiitisches Zentrum besitzt die Moschee eine besondere überregionale Bedeutung.

The Imam Ali Mosque, also known as the Islamic Centre Hamburg (IZH), is an important religious and cultural centre in the Uhlenhorst district. It was constructed between 1960 and 1965 and is considered one of the oldest Shia mosques in Germany. Its striking appearance is characterised by the large dome and two slender minarets, making it an eye-catcher on the Outer Alster Lake. The IZH primarily serves the Shia community and houses a library and educational programmes in addition to prayer rooms. Due to its long history and role as an important Shia centre, the mosque holds special supra-regional significance.
