Basilica Sancti Petri 
Basilica Sancti Petri in Civitate Vaticana est centrum orbis Catholici ac una e maximis ecclesiis in toto orbe terrarum. Super sepulcrum praesumptum Simonis Petri Apostoli, cuius successores ut primi Episcopi Romae sunt Pontifices, aedificata est. Constructio hodiernae Basilicae in stilo Renovationis et Baroco anno 1506 incepta et per plus quam 120 annos duravit. Cupula magnifica secundum designationes Michaelis Angeli Bonarotii magna ex parte perfecta est. Intus, ecclesia opera artis gravia sicut "Pietatem" Michaelis Angeli et Baldachinum aeneum ingentem Bernini super altare maius continet. Area Sancti Petri ante, columnatis Bernini circumdata, spatium decem milibus peregrinorum ad missas et benedictionem Pontificis "Urbi et Orbi" praebet.

Duomo di San Pietro
Il Duomo di San Pietro nella Città del Vaticano è il centro del mondo cattolico e una delle chiese più grandi a livello globale. Fu eretto sopra la presunta tomba dell'Apostolo Simon Pietro, i cui successori sono i Papi come primi Vescovi di Roma. La costruzione dell'attuale Basilica in stile Rinascimentale e Barocco iniziò nel 1506 e durò oltre 120 anni. L'impressionante cupola fu completata in gran parte seguendo i progetti di Michelangelo Buonarroti. All'interno, la chiesa ospita importanti opere d'arte come la "Pietà" di Michelangelo e il massiccio baldacchino di bronzo del Bernini sopra l'altare maggiore. La Piazza San Pietro antistante, delimitata dai colonnati del Bernini, offre spazio a decine di migliaia di pellegrini per le messe e la benedizione "Urbi et Orbi" del Papa.

St. Peter's Basilica
St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican City is the center of the Catholic world and one of the largest churches globally. It was erected over the supposed tomb of the Apostle Simon Peter, whose successors, the Popes, are the first Bishops of Rome. The construction of the current Basilica in Renaissance and Baroque style began in 1506 and lasted over 120 years. The impressive dome was largely completed following the designs of Michelangelo Buonarroti. Inside, the church houses significant works of art, such as Michelangelo's "Pietà" and Bernini's massive bronze Baldacchino over the high altar. The St. Peter's Square in front, bordered by Bernini's colonnades, offers space for tens of thousands of pilgrims for masses and the Pope's "Urbi et Orbi" blessing.

Petersdom
Der Petersdom in der Vatikanstadt ist das Zentrum der katholischen Welt und eine der größten Kirchen weltweit. Er wurde über der vermuteten Grabstätte des Apostels Simon Petrus errichtet, dem als erstem Bischof von Rom die Päpste nachfolgen. Der Bau der heutigen Basilika im Stil der Renaissance und des Barock begann 1506 und dauerte über 120 Jahre. Die eindrucksvolle Kuppel wurde maßgeblich nach den Entwürfen von Michelangelo Buonarroti fertiggestellt. Im Inneren beherbergt die Kirche bedeutende Kunstwerke wie Michelangelos "Pietà" und Berninis gewaltigen Bronzebaldachin über dem Hauptaltar. Der Petersplatz davor, von Berninis Kolonnaden umrahmt, bietet zehntausenden Pilgern Platz für die Messen und den Segen "Urbi et Orbi" des Papstes.
