 Stolpersteine
Die Stolpersteine sind ein europaweites Projekt des Künstlers Gunter Demnig, das an die Opfer der NS-Zeit erinnert. Es handelt sich dabei um kleine Messingtafeln, die in den Bürgersteig vor den ehemaligen Wohnhäusern der Verfolgten eingelassen werden. Jeder Stein beginnt mit den Worten „Hier wohnte“ und nennt den Namen, das Geburtsdatum sowie das Schicksal der jeweiligen Person. Durch das Bücken, um die Inschrift zu lesen, verbeugt sich der Betrachter symbolisch vor dem Opfer. Mittlerweile wurden bereits über 100.000 dieser Steine in vielen verschiedenen Ländern verlegt. Sie sorgen dafür, dass die Namen der Menschen in unseren Alltag zurückkehren und niemals in Vergessenheit geraten.

Stumbling stones
The Stolpersteine (stumbling stones) are a Europe-wide project by artist Gunter Demnig that commemorates the victims of the Nazi era. These are small brass plaques embedded in the sidewalk in front of the former homes of those who were persecuted. Each stone begins with the words "Here lived" and lists the name, birth date, and the fate of the individual. By bending down to read the inscription, the viewer symbolically bows to the victim. Over 100,000 of these stones have now been laid across many different countries. They ensure that the names of these people return to our daily lives and are never forgotten.

די שטולפּערשטיינער זײַנען אַן אייראָפּע־ווײַטער פּראָיעקט פֿונעם קינסטלער גונטער דעמניג, וואָס דערמאָנט די קרבנות פֿון דער נאַצי־תּקופֿה. עס האַנדלט זיך אין קליינע מעשענע טאָוולען, וואָס זײַנען אײַנגעבויט אין דעם טראָטואַר פֿאַר די געוועזענע וווינונגען פֿון די גערודפֿטע מענטשן. יעדער שטיין הייבט זיך אָן מיט די ווערטער „דאָ האָט געוווינט“ און גיט אָן דעם נאָמען, דעם געבורט־דאַטום און דעם גורל פֿון דער פּערזאָן. דורך דעם בויגן זיך, כדי צו לייענען די שריפֿט, בוקט זיך דער צוקוקער סימבאָליש פֿאַר דעם קרבן. מיט דער צײַט זײַנען שוין געלייגט געוואָרן איבער 100,000 אַזעלכע שטיינער אין פֿיל פֿאַרשיידענע לענדער. זיי זאָרגן דערפֿאַר, אַז די נעמען פֿון די מענטשן קערן זיך אום אין אונדזער טאָגטעגלעכן לעבן און ווערן קיין מאָל נישט פֿאַרגעסן.
