Inaugurada em 1893, a Catedral Basílica de Nossa Senhora da Luz dos Pinhais é o coração histórico e espiritual da cidade de Curitiba. A imponente estrutura em estilo neogótico marca a paisagem da Praça Tiradentes, no centro da capital, destacando-se por sua arquitetura marcante e vitrais coloridos. Um dos grandes destaques do templo é o espetáculo cultural "Catedral de Luz", que acontece tradicionalmente durante a época de Natal. Nessa apresentação gratuita, o interior da igreja se transforma em uma enorme tela interativa por meio de projeções mapeadas (video-mapping) em alta definição. Os fascinantes efeitos luminosos são acompanhados por apresentações ao vivo de orquestras e corais da região, criando uma atmosfera mágica.

Inaugurated in 1893, the Catedral Basílica de Nossa Senhora da Luz dos Pinhais serves as the historical and spiritual heart of Curitiba. Built in the Neo-Gothic style, this imposing structure shapes the landscape of the central Praça Tiradentes with its striking architecture and colorful stained glass windows. A particular highlight is the spectacular "Catedral de Luz" cultural event, which regularly takes place during the Christmas season. During this free performance, the interior of the church is transformed into a massive, vibrant projection screen through modern video-mapping technology. The fascinating light effects are accompanied by moving live music performed by local orchestras and choirs.

Die im Jahr 1893 eingeweihte Catedral Basílica de Nossa Senhora da Luz dos Pinhais ist das historische und spirituelle Herzstück der brasilianischen Großstadt Curitiba. Das im neugotischen Stil errichtete Bauwerk prägt mit seiner imposanten Architektur und den farbenprächtigen Buntglasfenstern das Bild der zentralen Praça Tiradentes. Ein ganz besonderes Highlight ist das spektakuläre Kulturevent „Catedral de Luz“, das regelmäßig in der Weihnachtszeit stattfindet.
