Hradec Králové – Salon republiky
Královské věnné město se krom cenného historického centra (městská památková rezervace) může pochlubit i zajímavou moderní architekturou první poloviny 20. století. Právě z této doby pochází hrdý přívlastek města – Salon republiky. Hradec se nejen zásluhou tehdejšího starosty Dr. Františka Ulricha definitivně zbavil hradeb vojenské pevnosti. Díky významným architektům, především Janu Kotěrovi a Josefu Gočárovi, byla vytvořena promyšlená urbanistická koncepce dynamicky rozvíjejícího se města, které se na nějakou dobu stalo vzorem pro další města naší republiky.

In addition to the valuable historical center (city monument reserve), the Royal Dowry City also boasts interesting modern architecture from the first half of the 20th century. From this time comes the proud attribute of the city - the Salon of the Republic. Hradec, not only thanks to the then mayor Dr. František Ulrich, removed the walls of the military fortress. Thanks to important architects, especially Jan Kotěr and Josef Gočár, a well-thought-out urban concept of a dynamically developing city was created, which for some time became a model for other cities in our republic.

Neben dem wertvollen historischen Zentrum (Stadtdenkmalreservat) verfügt die "Königliche Mitgiftstadt" auch über eine interessante, moderne Architektur aus der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts. Aus dieser Zeit stammt das stolze Wahrzeichen der Stadt - der Salon der Republik. Nicht nur Dank des damaligen Bürgermeisters, Dr. Franz Ulrich, hat Hradec die Mauern der Militärfestung endgültig beseitigt. Dank wichtiger Architekten, insbesondere Jan Kotěr und Josef Gočár, wurde ein durchdachtes Stadtkonzept einer sich dynamisch entwickelnden Stadt geschaffen, das für einige Zeit zum Vorbild für andere Städte in unserer Republik wurde.
