Cânion do Xingó
O Cânion do Xingó, no estado de Sergipe, é uma das paisagens naturais mais impressionantes do Nordeste brasileiro, formado pelo represamento do Rio São Francisco para a Usina Hidrelétrica de Xingó. As majestosas muralhas rochosas de tons avermelhados elevam-se verticalmente a até 50 metros das águas calmas e de um azul profundo, oferecendo um contraste fascinante com a vegetação de caatinga ao redor. Os visitantes exploram o labirinto de desfiladeiros geralmente em catamarãs ou escunas, que navegam pelas passagens estreitas do quinto maior cânion navegável do mundo. Um destaque especial é a Gruta do Talhado, onde as águas são tão tranquilas e claras que é possível mergulhar entre as gigantescas formações rochosas.

Der Canyon do Xingó im Bundesstaat Sergipe ist eine der beeindruckendsten Naturlandschaften im Nordosten Brasiliens und entstand durch die Aufstauung des Rio São Francisco für das Xingó-Wasserkraftwerk. Die majestätischen, rötlichen Felswände ragen bis zu 50 Meter senkrecht aus dem tiefblauen, ruhigen Wasser empor und bieten einen faszinierenden Kontrast zur kargen Caatinga-Vegetation der Umgebung. Besucher erkunden das Labyrinth aus Schluchten meist mit Katamaranen oder Segelbooten, die durch die engen Passagen der fünftgrößten schiffbaren Schlucht der Welt führen. Ein besonderes Highlight ist die „Gruta do Talhado“, wo das Wasser so ruhig und klar ist, dass man zwischen den gigantischen Felsformationen schwimmen kann.

The majestic, reddish rock walls rise vertically up to 50 meters from the calm, deep blue waters, offering a fascinating contrast to the surrounding Caatinga vegetation. Visitors usually explore the labyrinth of gorges by catamaran or schooner, navigating through the narrow passages of the world's fifth-largest navigable canyon. A special highlight is the "Gruta do Talhado," where the water is so still and clear that you can swim among the gigantic rock formations.
