Ulmer Münster 
Das Ulmer Münster ist ein monumentales Meisterwerk der gotischen Baukunst und das unverkennbare Wahrzeichen der Stadt Ulm. Es hält den Weltrekord für den höchsten Kirchturm der Welt; dieser ragt beeindruckende 161,53 Meter in den Himmel. Die Grundsteinlegung erfolgte bereits im Jahr 1377, doch die vollständige Fertigstellung des Hauptturms dauerte ganze 513 Jahre und wurde erst 1890 abgeschlossen. Anders als viele andere Dome war es nie eine Bischofskirche, sondern wurde hauptsächlich von den Bürgern Ulms finanziert. Heute ist das Münster die größte evangelische Kirche Deutschlands und zieht Besucher wegen seiner Architektur und seines berühmten Chorgestühls an. Für einen weiten Blick über Ulm und die Alpen kann man die 768 Stufen bis zur höchsten Aussichtsplattform erklimmen.

The Ulm Minster is a monumental masterpiece of Gothic architecture and the unmistakable landmark of the city of Ulm. It holds the world record for the tallest church spire in the world, towering an impressive 161.53 meters into the sky. The foundation stone was laid as early as 1377, but the complete construction of the main spire took a full 513 years and was only finished in 1890. Unlike many other cathedrals, it was never a bishop's church but was primarily financed by the citizens of Ulm. Today, the Minster is the largest Protestant church in Germany and attracts visitors because of its architecture and its famous choir stalls. For a wide view over Ulm and the Alps, one can climb the 768 steps to the highest viewing platform.
