Dolní Kounice - Kanitz

 

Synagoga v Dolních Kounicích, Česká republika, je považována za jednu z nejvýznamnějších renesančních staveb židovské sakrální architektury ve střední Evropě. Byla postavena v roce 1656 na základech starší synagogy, která byla zničena během třicetileté války. Jednoduchý exteriér budovy skrývá bohatě zdobený barokní interiér, který byl přidán v 18. století. Po druhé světové válce a holocaustu budova chátrala a dlouho zůstala prázdná. Teprve v 21. století byla synagoga komplexně rekonstruována a restaurována, přičemž byla obnovena její původní krása. Dnes slouží synagoga jako kulturní památka a pietní místo a je přístupná pro návštěvníky.

Die Synagoge in Kanitz, Tschechien, gilt als eines der bedeutendsten Renaissance-Bauwerke jüdischer Sakralarchitektur in Mitteleuropa. Sie wurde 1656 auf den Fundamenten einer älteren Synagoge errichtet, die im Dreißigjährigen Krieg zerstört worden war. Das schlichte Äußere des Gebäudes verbirgt einen reich verzierten, barocken Innenraum, der im 18. Jahrhundert hinzugefügt wurde. Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg und dem Holocaust verfiel das Gebäude in einen Zustand des Verfalls und stand lange Zeit leer. Erst im 21. Jahrhundert wurde die Synagoge umfassend rekonstruiert und restauriert, wobei die ursprüngliche Pracht wiederhergestellt wurde. Heute dient die Synagoge als Kulturdenkmal und Gedenkstätte und kann von Besuchern besichtigt werden.

The synagogue in Dolní Kounice, Czech Republic, is considered one of the most significant Renaissance buildings of Jewish sacral architecture in Central Europe. It was built in 1656 on the foundations of an older synagogue that was destroyed during the Thirty Years' War. The building's simple exterior hides a richly decorated Baroque interior that was added in the 18th century. After the Second World War and the Holocaust, the building fell into a state of decay and remained empty for a long time. It was not until the 21st century that the synagogue was extensively reconstructed and restored, with its original splendor being recreated. Today, the synagogue serves as a cultural monument and memorial site and can be visited by the public.
