Остров Врангеля расположен в Северном Ледовитом океане и административно принадлежит России. Он известен как уникальный и строго охраняемый природный заповедник мирового значения. Остров является крупнейшей колонией для размножения белого медведя в Арктике и служит домом для многих других видов животных, таких как моржи и песцы. Кроме того, на острове Врангеля обитала последняя выжившая популяция шерстистого мамонта, которая вымерла всего около 4000 лет назад. Благодаря своей нетронутой природе и научному значению, в 2004 году остров был объявлен объектом Всемирного природного наследия ЮНЕСКО.

Wrangel Island is located in the Arctic Ocean and administratively belongs to Russia. It is known as a unique and strictly protected nature reserve of global importance. The island is the largest denning colony for polar bears in the Arctic and provides a habitat for many other animal species like walruses and arctic foxes. Furthermore, Wrangel Island hosted the last surviving population of the woolly mammoth, which only became extinct about 4,000 years ago. Due to its pristine nature and scientific significance, the island was declared a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site in 2004.

Die Wrangelinsel liegt im arktischen Ozean und gehört administrativ zu Russland. Sie ist bekannt als ein einzigartiges und streng geschütztes Naturreservat von globaler Bedeutung. Die Insel ist die größte Nistkolonie des Eisbären in der Arktis und bietet vielen anderen Tierarten wie Walrossen und Polarfüchsen einen Lebensraum. Zudem beherbergte die Wrangelinsel die letzte überlebende Population des Wollmammuts, die erst vor etwa 4.000 Jahren ausstarb. Wegen ihrer unberührten Natur und ihrer wissenschaftlichen Bedeutung wurde die Insel im Jahr 2004 zum UNESCO-Weltnaturerbe erklärt.
