Мурманск - Murmansk

 Российский портовый город Мурманск расположен на крайнем северо-западе страны на Кольском полуострове и считается крупнейшим городом мира за Полярным кругом. Несмотря на экстремальное географическое положение, его стратегически важный глубоководный порт на Баренцевом море остается полностью свободным ото льда круглый год благодаря ответвлению теплого Гольфстрима. Основанный в 1916 году под названием Романов-на-Мурмане, он стал последним городом, заложенным в Российской империи перед её распадом. В годы Великой Отечественной войны город приобрел историческое значение как важнейший пункт прибытия союзных полярных конвоев, за что позже был удостоен почетного звания «Город-герой». Визуальной визитной карточкой города является монументальный памятник «Алёша» — гигантская бетонная статуя солдата, которая возвышается на сопке и защищающе смотрит на порт. Помимо своей индустриальной роли, Мурманск привлекает множество искателей приключений, желающих своими глазами увидеть завораживающее природное зрелище северного сияния и многонедельную полярную ночь в период ледяной зимы.

 The Russian port city of Murmansk is located in the extreme northwest of the country on the Kola Peninsula and is considered the largest city in the world north of the Arctic Circle. Despite its extreme geographical location, its strategically important deep-sea port on the Barents Sea remains completely ice-free all year round thanks to the remnants of the warm Gulf Stream. Founded in 1916 under the name Romanov-na-Murmane, it was the final city officially established by the Russian Empire before its collapse. During World War II, the city gained historical significance as a crucial arrival point for Allied supply convoys, which later earned it the honorable title of "Hero City." The visual landmark of the city is the monumental Alyosha Monument, a gigantic concrete statue of a soldier that stands high on a hill, gazing protectively over the harbor. In addition to its industrial role, Murmansk attracts many adventure seekers who wish to witness the fascinating natural spectacle of the Northern Lights and the weeks-long polar night during the icy winter months.

Die russische Hafenstadt Murmansk liegt im äußersten Nordwesten des Landes auf der Kola-Halbinsel und gilt als die größte Stadt der Erde nördlich des Polarkreises. Trotz ihrer extremen geografischen Lage bleibt ihr strategisch wichtiger Tiefseehafen an der Barentssee dank des Ausläufers des warmen Golfstroms das ganze Jahr über komplett eisfrei. Gegründet im Jahr 1916 unter dem Namen Romanow-na-Murmane, war sie die letzte Stadtgründung des russischen Kaiserreichs vor dessen Zusammenbruch. Im Zweiten Weltkrieg erlangte die Stadt historische Bedeutung als entscheidender Ankunftsort für die alliierten Versorgungskonvois, weshalb ihr später der ehrenvolle Titel „Heldenstadt“ verliehen wurde. Das optische Wahrzeichen der Stadt ist das monumentale Aljoscha-Denkmal, eine gigantische Betonstatue eines Soldaten, die hoch oben auf einem Hügel thront und schützend über den Hafen blickt. Neben ihrer industriellen Rolle zieht Murmansk auch viele Abenteuerlustige an, die in den eisigen Winternächten das faszinierende Naturschauspiel der Polarlichter sowie die wochenlange Polarnacht miterleben möchten.
